The MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI II AM5 ATX Motherboard is built on the AMD B850 chipset for Socket AM5 and supports Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series desktop processors. This MSI B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI II motherboard uses the ATX form factor and has four DDR5 memory slots, four M.2 slots, Wi-Fi 7, and 5G LAN. As an MSI 850 Motherboard in the MAG series, it covers the mid-range AM5 platform with current memory, storage, and wireless standards.
The four UDIMM slots on the MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI II take DDR5 memory up to 256GB. Supported speeds run from 4800 to 5600 MT/s under JEDEC and from 5600 up to 8400 MT/s with overclocking. On Ryzen 9000 series processors, a single-rank module in one slot per channel can reach 8400+ MT/s, while the other configurations listed reach up to 6400+ MT/s. The board also has two Direct OC jumpers for base clock adjustment.
Storage is handled by four M.2 sockets and four SATA 6G ports. M.2_1 and M.2_2 connect to the CPU at PCIe 5.0 x4, M.2_3 runs at PCIe 4.0 x2, and M.2_4 runs at PCIe 4.0 x4. M.2_1 also fits 22110 drives, and RAID 0, 1, and 10 are supported for NVMe devices. For expansion, the first PCIe x16 slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 on Ryzen 9000 and 7000 series processors, and the other two slots run at PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x1 from the chipset.
