Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens

The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens is a large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens built for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its constant f/2.8 aperture, which opens up to f/2.8 and closes down to f/22, lets in plenty of light for sharp handheld shots in dim places. The 17-28mm zoom range gives you a wide view that suits landscapes, cityscapes, and tight building interiors. This Tamron wide angle lens is the smallest and lightest in its class, so it travels easily in any camera bag. The RXD stepping motor focuses quickly and quietly, which keeps both photos and video clean. The angle of view runs from 103° 41' to 75° 23', so you can fit large scenes and big groups into one frame. The 67 mm front filter size means you can mount polarizers and other filters without buying oversized ones. It is a strong pick for landscape, architecture and travel photographers who shoot with Sony mirrorless cameras.

This 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD zoom lens was designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras, so it delivers superb image quality without extra bulk. Strategically placed LD and XLD elements suppress chromatic aberration, which keeps edges clean and colors true in high-contrast scenes. The ultra-wide focal length stretches perspective, giving mountains, skylines and building interiors a dramatic sense of depth. The moisture-resistant construction protects the lens when you shoot outdoors in damp or unpredictable weather. The hydrophobic fluorine coating repels fingerprints and dirt, so wiping the front element takes seconds.

The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD ultra-wide zoom lens measures just 99 mm (3.9 in) in length and weighs only 420 g (14.8 oz). That light weight reduces fatigue during long days of walking and shooting. The overall length does not change while zooming, so handling stays consistent and the balance on your camera never shifts. The 67 mm filter size matches the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens, so you can share filters, lens caps and other accessories between both models. This saves money and keeps your kit simple. Together, these traits make it a practical travel photography lens for Sony cameras.
